Is more rich and deep that the game and it has fixed all the issues that I had with Zestiria in terms of plot and characters. My personal opinion is that if you played the game you must watch the anime. The animation is beautiful and the music from the game fits the anime wonderfully. The pasing is fast, but I like it as it is. And Mikleo is not as annoying since they removed a few things that contribute to this flaw in his character. At this point they also skipped Leliah's oath, which is introduced almost as soon as she join you and is a bit annoying how much they dance around the topic. We can see more of Sorey's determination and how strongh he's in comparition with another human, which makes more sense of why he became she Sheperd.

They told how Alisha found Elizia and that she, as a knight, is actually useful in the kingdom and have people that admire her. in the ending, years have passed since sorey went to sleep, and the grave you see is rose's (devs have said that it's up to your interpretation if she became a seraph or not). They're taking the liberty to change a few things and explain topics that were unanswered or poorly explained in the game My best example is that they said why Lunares was so important at the beginning (wanted to kill Alisha) only to never see him again until much later in the story.Īlso, the added more deep to the characters. For the former, there's the interesting changes they're making (as well as seeing the cast members come to life once more), and for the latter, there's the solid introduction to a new world, the conflict, and the characters. So yes, as far as I can see, the anime's friendly to both those who have played the game and those who know next to nothing about the Tales series. Coupled with that understanding and ufotable's marvelous animation, it's no wonder the anime is interesting to people, even to those who haven't played a single Tales game. I've corroborated with several friends who have never played the game, and they still understand what's going on, even with the fast pacing. But it's not so fast such that the viewer no longer can keep track of what's going on, so I suppose you can say it's a good kind of "fast".

Pacing-wise, the anime will, of course, be fast. These ones aren't plot holes as much as things that remained unexplained/poorly explained by the game, as the actual plot holes come in later and I look forward to how the anime handles these. I'm also admittedly biased towards Alisha, so I don't mind all the additional screentime. The anime explains more things (like how Alisha, Sorey, and Mikleo end up in the ruins), in addition to giving a more solid reason for certain things, such as why Rose wants to assassinate Alisha and how Lunarre turned hellion on everyone. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, and I'd have to say that I'm one of those people who like the anime more than the game thus far.
